Posting to the group

Preliminary question: For an Offer or a Wanted, has it been a full two weeks since you posted this item before? If not, wait.

1. Address field: tricities_freecycle@yahoogroups.ca
   
   
2. Subject: MUST BEGIN with one of four words:
   
   OFFER - for items you'd like to give away
   WANTED - for items you're seeking
   TAKEN - for items you've offered once they've been claimed
   RECEIVED - for items you've received as a result of your WANTED post
   
   Followed by a brief description of the items offered or wanted; then, if room, the community. Example: Offer: Couch, TV, exersaucer, Coquitlam
   
   AVOID
   • Collections like “see list” or “misc” or “garage sale leftovers”
   • Begging like “desperate” or “needed” or “please read” or “!!!!”
   • General solicitations like “church needs everything” or “long list”
   • Unreasonable specifics like “must be in new condition” or “designer fashions only”
   
   
3. Message Body:
   • Any additional information needed to help others understand what you are offering or what you are seeking.
   • General location if you didn’t put it in the subject line.
   • A reasonable time to respond and to pick up your offers.
   
   AVOID
   • Commercial messages.
   • Offering or asking for payment.
   • Long “signatures” pointing to commercial, religious, or political sites or information (please restrict your signatures to four lines).
   
   
4. Repeated posts may only be sent every two weeks. This is a policy that the Tri-Cities Freecycle group voted for.  After two weeks stale posts will be deleted from our message board and people are free to send their post through again.  Please keep in mind that posts for the same item can only be sent through three times total, so please space things appropriately.
